Introduction to Computer Science: Students are beginning to create Google Presentation in both a linear and non-linear fashion, which follow specific formats. They include internal and external links, time animations and transitions, and APA style references.
PLTW Computer Science I: Students are beginning to apply logic to coding in a drag and drop environment in order to create mobile apps. In doing so, they are applying the design process and documenting their own progress.
PLTW Computer Science II: Students are writing code in HTML and CSS languages in order to create HTML documents which include tags, tables, lists, links, graphics, text emphasis, and colored fonts & backgrounds.
February 2017
Project Lead the Way - Computer Science I (7th Grade): Students re designing and coding mobile applications based on the needs of a client. In doing so, students are applying the Software Design Process in order to document their progress on each PLTW activity.
Project Lead the Way – Computer Science II (8th Grade): Students have completed several tutorials which has enabled them to apply HTML and CSS code in order to create HTML Documents. Students will be applying these concepts to PLTW coding activities in order to create apps which will access the Internet.

Project Lead the Way – Computer Science II (8th Grade): Students are in the process of creating a website by applying skills and concepts learned in the coding languages of HTML and CSS.Introduction to Computers (6th Grade): Students are currently applying formatting basics to Google Documents and APA style references when using online resources such as online journal databases and graphics.
Project Lead the Way - Computer Science I (7th Grade): students are designing and testing mobile applications through the use of desktop computers and tablets by using a drag and drop code.
November 2017
Introduction to Computers (6th Grade): Students are completing a learning target aimed at formatting Google Documents, using online journal databases, and inserting APA style references. Next up, students will create and apply formatting standards to Google Slides on linear and non-linear presentations.
Computer Science (7th Grade): Students are working in cooperative groups and applying the design process towards designing a mobile application used in real time to track statistical information for basketball.
October 2017
Introduction to Computers (6th Grade): Students are learning how to protect their private information when online and leave a positive digital footprint, how to spot and avoid phishing e-mails, the three major components of intellectual properties: Copyright, Fair Use, and Plagiarism; and how they are to be used when looking up and using online information for school assignments.
Computer Science (7th Grade): Students are learning how to read and create code in a "drag-n-drop" environment. Specifically, students are using boolean expressions, event handlers, arguments, and global variables just to name a few types of code blocks.
September 2016
PLTW Computer Science I: Students are at the beginning stages of programming mobile applications through a cloud-based software program. In doing so, students are practicing professional etiquette as they work in teams of two in order to problem solve challenges faced in projects.
Introduction to Computers: Students are improving their keyboarding accuracy, speed, and ergonomics. They are also formatting Google Documents to meet specific standards while learning how to work and communicate within a Google Classroom. In addition, students are implementing properly formatted references within a Google Document when using outside resources.
