April 2017
PE just finished up our Ultimate Frisbee unit. Ask your student to show you the three types of throws that they learned during the unit. We will be starting our Volleyball unit this week. We will be working on fundamental skills and basic game strategies. March 2017
PE is currently finishing up our Nitro ball unit. Ask your student about the rules of Nitro Ball! Our next unit in PE will be Soccer. Students will be learning the fundamentals of passing, dribbling, and shooting.
February 2017
PE is just finished basketball. Ask your student what the BEEF acronym is! This week we are starting our badminton tournament. We will be assessing skills and also game strategy. Ask your student what the different hits are in badminton!
January 2017
The students just finished up playing Ultimate Football this past week. Next week we are starting our basketball unit. We will also start fitness testing in the next couple weeks. Ask your student about target heart rate.
December 2016
Currently students are in the middle of playing in a Pickleball tournament. They have learned the skills, rules, and game strategies to be successful in game play.
Our next unit we will be playing is speedball. 7th grade DARE starts December 5th and will go for two weeks.
November 2016
The students are finishing up playing hockey. They have learned to play the various positions of hockey.
Our next unit we will be playing basketball. The students will learn correct form in shooting, dribbling, and passing.October 2016
In PE students are currently playing a Badminton tournament. Students are also learning the fundamentals of a backhand, forehand, overhand and underhand hit. Our upcoming units will be Tchoukball, Hockey, and Pickleball.Tchoukball was created in Switzerland by Hermann Brandt in the 1970s. He designed tchoukball to contain elements of handball (it is played with hands, and the balls used are similar), volleyball (as the defending team must prevent the ball from falling) and squash (since there is a bounce).
Coach Scrogham wanted to update you, her daughter was born on October 11th, both are doing great.
September 2016
We are currently playing volleyball. Each grade is learning different skills such as passing serving and setting.

Students have also learned how to take their heart rate, which they have used to find their target heart rate zone. Ask your child to take their heart rate for you!
